KNITS

28 Aug

I have a feeling summer is on it's way out and there are only a few more weeks left of cropped looks and slides.... These past few mornings chunky knits have been calling me. I have managed to resist so far, however this has not stopped me looking out for new additions. This season the bigger the better, which is something I am really happy about, and is also great if you are with bump. You can't beat a cosey oversized woolly. Wear with leather leggings or those favourite skinnies for everyday style.

Currently I am drawn to any shade of grey ... Read More

PRINTS

Prints
When the weather or days activity calls for something a little more covered and pretty pastels or floral-print are not quite appropriate I will always reach for a pair of printed leggings (or Jeans depending on my/A's mood.) One of my favourite such brands is Our Little Lullaby and I have just seen a sneak-peak of their new season prints. How divine. Paired with a T-shirt or chunky knit this is easy-peasy mini-style. Great for both the girls and boys, winter or summer, little or large.

Which is your favourite? I would go for either penguin or cheetah. ...

SHIRT DRESSING

20 Aug

photo-111
It's that in between stage. Not warm enough for full-on summer dressing but still OK for bare legs to show off a bit of that holiday tan. My go-to? A shirt dress. Button front, perfect for breast feeding, just haven't had a chance to wear any other kind of dress this season, long sleeved, and great with a chunky knit if it decides to rain. Can't really make up it's mind these days can it...?

The shirt dress is also perfect as a maternity look. Loose-fitting to accommodate that bump and button (or wrap) front for when required post-baby. Isabella Oliver maternity have an ... Read More

HEY THERE!

Apologies for being so useless these past few weeks. No real excuses - Just sunshine, sea and relaxation. Those good intentions of 'working' just were not strong enough. I was overcome by all things Italia instead. Now sadly holidays are over and it's back to reality.

There is a good month of summer holiday's to go at home, and for the next further few weeks I am full time mum with two-in-tow. Boy is it hard keeping a three year old busy. One that has previously been used to going to the beach every day, and staying up until midnight each night socialising. (Thankfully the bedti ... Read More

LIBERTY PRINT

Liberty-print-tableware
I know I am probably extremely behind with my latest discovery but, in-case you are like me, thanks to baby and toddler distractions, I would like to introduce Liberty homeware. The tableware alone is just gorgeous. Dinner-party-décor upgrade anyone?

I must add, whilst we are here, liberty-print baby. The cutest cotton bloomers, blouses and dresses. And why not add a matching cotton bib to prettify the far from pretty weaning process? (Not long to go now...) It's at times like this I am so thankful I have girls.

YOUMI AND TEEPEE

15 Jul

Youmee-and-teepee
I am slightly obsessed with teepee tents at the moment and this latest discovery has got me very excited. Youmi and Teepee have just the most perfect teepees.

Chic, stylish and absolute fun. Youmi elephant would have to be my first choice, the yellow and grey design would fit the playroom colour scheme perfectly. I am extremely tempted...

PROJECT RED

Last week I received a new aden + anais summer-weight sleeping bag ready for our impeding holiday.

From experience I have learnt that the 1 tog sleeping bags are still far too hot for Mediterranean climates, and a sheet or light blanket just doesn't work as an alternative. Evelyn's latest trick is to wriggle anything covering her up over her face, so I wouldn't feel comfortable her sleeping in anything but a sleeping bag.  Aden + anais is the obvious answer. Soft, snuggly muslin that is as light as the lightest sheet - to keep her cosey yet cool.

Whilst we are on ... Read More

BEST OF THE SALES

Maternity-leggings
Let's face it, most of us are still reluctant to invest so much in a maternity wardrobe. Nine months, however long it feels, comes and goes pretty fast, and so most would rather spend in other areas than maternity-wear. Unfortunately however, being pregnant does require a number of essentials -  A pair of basic leggings, jeans and some ruching will always be in demand. So now is the best time to buy. Hello sales.

Favourite maternity labels (by now you should know who these are) have some great bargains to be had. Luckily I have done the hard work for you.

TINY-TOE STYLING

7 Jul

IMG_20140707_104538
As a shoe lover (what girl isn't?) having a mini-me is so much fun when it comes to styling those tiny-toes. A has an extremely extensive collection of shoes and E is not far behind. What is so great about having two girls is that investing in quality footwear means you can save them for number two. My idea being a good selection will mean no one pair gets worn to death, and remains in fabulous quality for little sis. Like my logic?

When it comes to those quality pairs, style needs to be in conjunction. Let's just say I am not a fan of inch blue, and wherever possible I ... Read More
