What’s in my hospital bag?

Hospital bag 2

If you have been following my pregnancy journey via instagram you will know that I am now just a matter of weeks away from welcoming my third baby and I have finally got around to packing my hospital bag. They say you should have your bag packed by 36 weeks, but if you know me you will know I'm generally quite laid back about these things. I haven't really thought about it much until now (I'm 37 weeks) but in my head I want to have it all sorted by 38 weeks. Most babies don't come early so there's still plenty of time.

So, this brings m ... Read More

Boot up

6 Nov

other storires
I haven't purchased a new pair of boots for a couple of winters now. When it comes to footwear I believe in quality over quantity, both for myself and for my daughters. This means I am happy to spend more on a really lovely boot that will last more than one season, rather than several cheaper pairs that probably won't even last one. Obviously this doesn't always work with the girls as their feet grow! However from experience, no matter how many different pairs they might have, they always end up wearing the same ones. So you only need one good pair, in either dark blue, black or brown, to wear ... Read More

Sequins and faux fur

faux
Probably my favourite two things to wear come winter, sequins and faux fur. You just can't beat them for feeling festive. Not just for parties, I love a sequined skirt and a chunky knit combination during the day, too.

I have just done a quick edit of some of my favourite sequin dresses, all online now. My absolute favourite combination has the be this oversized  shaggy coat with this dress! (Which would also work with my baby bump.) I have however just remembered I have that Zara rainbow sequin t-shirt dress from last season, still with it's label attached - so not su ... Read More

My skincare favourites

Murad
When it comes to skincare I definitely have my favourites. When I find a product that works I don't see a reason to try something different. (It is always hard not to get seduced by the latest new thing however!) So I though i'd share with you what i'm using at the moment and what products I would really recommend.

My main rule when it comes beauty is always consider your skin type  What works on someone with dry skin won't necessarily have the same effect if you have combination, or oily skin, for example. I find moisturisers and oils specifically to either work for me, or rea ... Read More

Older girls Autumn inspo

6 Sep

scandi mini
I thought I'd do a little autumn edit of girlswear. Hopefully a few of you will find this useful if your daughter, like mine, has grown like a weed over the summer and literally nothing from last years wardrobe fits. (I know a lot of us struggle with pre-teen fashion too, so this might save you having to shop around, assuming you/your daughter has similar tastes in clothing to me/mine!)

My oldest daughter is eight but quite tall for her age. She now wears age 9-10 in most brands, and sometimes even age 10 in the more designer and European labels. (Isn't it weird how the designer ... Read More

I don't know about you but I'm really excited about Autumn fashion now. As much as I love summer, floaty dresses and slides, i'm now getting a bit bored of them. I can't wait to get all cosy and there's no better season for it.

Thankfully, seeing as this year I will be pregnant throughout autumn winter, (yep baby number three is due 2020!) there is still a huge emphasis on chunky knits and maxi's, which also happen to be perfect for dressing over a bump. I also have a lot of these st ... Read More

Older girls fashion

pinafore dress
I get asked a lot about older girls fashion and I must admit that often I struggle. There is a real lack of age appropriate styles that are affordable and/or of nice quality. Although quality aside I find it's the designs that are more of a problem. The high street seems to stop making cute clothing past the ago of seven, and I am unsure why? I personally feel that a lot of the younger styles should be carried through to at least age 10/11. I know that most of you guys also agree. I am definitely not ready for my daughter's to be wearing cut-outs and crops tops whilst still in single figures. ... Read More

Style and sustainability with Veja

veja
Hello. You are probably wondering what I am doing here, seeing as I haven't blogged in so long!? Well I just wanted to tell you a little bit more about this cool new brand I am obsessed with. Veja, and contrary to popular myth, their trainers are really comfortable!

Veja summed up in a sentence - 'One foot in style the other in sustainability.' I adore everything about this brand, and most importantly this ethos, which I hope is the way that all fashion is now heading. I also love the fact that they do children's styles. (And Men's.) All made from three main materials; wild rubb ... Read More

Start-rite Chelsea boots for both boys and girls

23 Oct

IMG_1180
I was recently contacted by Start-rite shoes and asked if I would like to collaborate with them on the launch of their new season Chelsea boots. Start-rite has always been a go-to for children's footwear, they always have lovely classics and the quality is one of the best (Louisa is just my absolute favourite style when it comes to school shoes) so of course I was very happy to work with them. They sent me a pair of boots for both the girls in the new blue patent for AW18.

Blue boots are not normally a colour I would choose for them, given that they wear a lot of pastels, Evelyn ... Read More

LEOPARD LOVE

Kitty-flats
The trend that has never really gone away, but this season is key. Leopard. There is literally no escaping it.

However, when it comes to animal prints (of any kind) I always like to keep them to the more classic styles and mainly outerwear. Coat, shoes, bag. Those pieces that won't ever date, worn on repeat season after season. (With the exception of these New Look leopard print jeans I would never have considered leopard-print trousers before, but I saw them worn on Instagram with a silk white shirt and just LOVED the look. Plus they were under £30 so I thought why not?) I did ... Read More
