Pastels maternity
Spring is just around the corner and I cannot wait for those first blossoms to fully bloom. Attention is also turning away from those winter knits. We can finally start thinking about more summery looks. One such trend, set to be big for the season, is pastels.

Now I'm not really a pastel kinda girl, I tend to stick to my more neutral uniform; greys, black and whites whatever the season. Come spring and summer I simply pick more white than black and lighter greys. However, if I were a fashion slave and followed the trends completely, there is a lot of shopping to be had. And I m ... ON A BUDGET

Sample sale - invitation
A few weeks back I was contacted by a producer of the BBC to see if I would be interested in taking part in a discussion on the 'art of maternity dressing' for radio 4's Woman's hour. This was an exciting email to be receiving, given there are many maternity and style blogs out there. Happily I accepted the offer. So stay tuned for that people....

Back to the point, and leading on from this quite appropriately - One of the questions the producer asked me during some telephone prep was whether there were any sites or sales for second hand maternity pieces, or maternity wear for t ... Read More

MULTI-PURPOSE

Tote bags
As you know Marie Chantal is one of my favourite designer destinations for the girls, especially when they have a sale on. So I was just browsing the site (as part of my Sunday evening sofa-shopping-routine), and aside from all those pretty peter-pan collars and chic little dresses, I just noticed these...

I have been keeping my eyes (and ears) open for a stylish overnight/weekend tote to transport back and forth to the grandparents for a while now, and these might just be it? Also great as a swimming bag I think? Even a hospital bag or changing bag?  So you get use right from ... Read More

DATE NIGHT

16 Feb

IO rosalin
For want of a better word, the perfect look for that dinner-date with the man. Forget the LBD, hello, the jumpsuit.

Elegant and stylish with minimal effort, a black all-in-one should be every girls go-to. Team with point-toe pumps (Jimmy Choos's Anouk in patent leather work best), statement jewels and a Valentino lock-stud bag for extra-added signature flair. Right now I am coveting a more laid back design from Michael Korrs. Said suit would be just as fabulous for a paired down look by day. Just add those favourite white sneakers, Sophie Hulme cross-body and Larsson and Jenning ... Read More

KIERA KNIGHTLY

13 Feb

KN Bafta
Always effortless, Kiera Knightly never seems to step a foot wrong in the style stakes, and bump dressing proves no exception. Whether it be red carpet style, or lower key outfit selection, she always manages to stay true to her feminine, chic, signature.  If only we could all make expectant dressing look that easy. (And have that same no-barred access to custom maternity pieces from the likes or Erdem and Chanel.)

Designer statements aside, we can still take inspiration from her everyday maternity style. Her recent airport look for example. That cute ruffle, printed chiffon dr ... Read More

KARL LAGERFELD, KIDS.

11 Feb

Karl Lagerfeld
So those exciting rumours going around have finally been confirmed. Karl Lagerfeld is to launch a children's fashion label.

It's been years in the waiting and can't really come a moment to soon. With the likes of Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Stella MacCartney already firmly on the map when it's comes to kids style, Lagerfeld will imminently be up there with the best of them. He already set pulses racing upon sending those utterly chic mini-me versions down the Chanel catwalk, so we can all finally breath a sigh of relief that the fantasy will soon become a reality. (For th ... Read More

VALENTINE, OR VALENTINO?

9 Feb

Valentino
What's on your wishlist this February 14th? Of course, every day should be Valentines day, but it's always nice to have an excuse for presents, no?

For me there is nothing more un-romantic than a Valentines date-night. Tables of two, set menu's and prosecco are not top of my list.  But I will never say no to gifts. A thoughtful present topped off with yummy food, fireside snuggles and a delicious bottle of red. Now that's true love. (Kids in bed, on time, and sleeping through permitting...)

Alternatively, who needs a Valentine, Valentino will do!

ADDED TOUCHES

I had a fantastic surprise delivery the other day. Something personalised too, which is always a nice added touch.

The Joolz Day travel-system, my current travel-system of choice, have introduced a really cool new feature to their design. The My Joolz service - in which you can create your own unique stroller with a personalised, laser engraved bumper bar. Like I said pretty cool, no? I was sent two, one engraved with the name of my daughter, the other aptly 'Mumzynot' in a contrasting turquoise colour which looks great against the all black. A welcome nod to spring. Love it.

HEAVEN ON EARTH

6 Feb

So I have just returned from that dream trip, Mauritius Four Seasons, it really was heaven on earth. That 12 hour flight with two little ones was well and truly worth it then!

I am not going to lie though, that flight was not easy. The littlest one is not the best sleeper whilst out and about. Maybe it's that second child syndrome, fear of missing out, but unless she is warm, cosy, quiet and dark, sleep is not an option. A however now finds travel a doddle, three is the bench-mark I think.

Now it's back to reality. Six loads of washing down, at least three more to ... Read More

LINGERIE

20 Jan

Ganni
One of my January traditions is to sort and re-vamp my underwear drawer. This is required even more so after having a baby and finishing breastfeeding - It's a little celebratory treat. (Paired with a little sadness that that special time is over.)

I am fortunate (or un-lucky depending how you look at it) that I have never had a problem buying nice underwear thanks to a moderate bust size. When pregnant and breastfeeding, although a-lot bigger, that size was still manageable and I could easily find comfortable and good-looking maternity and nursing pieces. My go-to's - ... Read More
