Ewan the dream sheep

I saw ‘Ewan the dream sheep’ just as i was on my way out of the babyshow@Excel center. I didn’t have time to stop, but the product really grabbed my eye, so i picked up a leaflet to see what it was all about.

Basically ‘Ewan’ is a babies soothing and sleeping aid that lightly glows at night (this pink glow is designed to mimic the light experienced in the womb). He is soft and cuddley so baby will love snuggling up to him. ’Ewan’ also has a velcro tail so can be safely and securely attached to the bars of your cot, probably a better idea when little one is new born to avoid being smothered.

I did a little research on ‘Ewan the dream sheep’, as i had not seen or heard about this product before, and can safely say that all the reviews are nothing but posative. If you visit the manufacturers website www.easidream.co.uk you can read all about ‘Ewan’ and the concept behind his creation. To sum it up i have taken a snipit from them, explaining why Ewan is so good as a babies comforter:

‘With the help of the UoB’s foetal monitoring equipment, the actual womb sounds and heartbeat of a pregnant mum were recorded by the team. These sounds were then combined with household, musical and natural sounds at low bass frequencies of 125hz to produce ‘pink noise.’ This is the type of noise that babies predominantly hear when in the womb, which is why it is so effective.

You can find Ewan in a number of differnt stores and online. He retails at £29.99.

Ewan is perhaps not essential, but i think enything that makes yours and your babies life more peaceful is worth a go. He will definately be going on my babyshower list!

My friends have both had a bear from mothercare that mimicked the sounds of the womb and they both said it was the best thing they bought. Ewan the sheep is far cuter though!
