Last week I popped by Mamas and Papas HQ to view their new Collection – And what a treat they have in-store for us mums and mums to be.

Their new maternity looks for Spring Summer are fabulous.  The collection I feel has stepped up a notch when it comes to fashion and style – this is stuff you will happily wear post bump. I had a good chat with creative Director, Richard Harris, who talked me through the collection and explained the inspiration behind it.

Mamas and Papas were keen to create a stylish collection of maternity wear that offers the mum-to-be longevity as well as wearability- Maternity clothes that will take you through the different stages of pregnancy and beyond. As you can see I think they might have achieved exactly that. Neon stripes, polka dots, print and pops colour, all highlight a real fashion collection that will happily remain in your wardrobe post bump. A big trend this season is over-sized  - this works perfectly when it comes to maternity and the designers at Mamas and Papas have taken note of the worlds catwalks.

Many pregnant women still resent spending money on a maternity wardrobe. Why bother for just nine months? However, with the new M&P collection they might change their mind. This is how maternity wear should be.

The new baby and kids collection is also pretty special. Their signature preppy-feel has been combined with a more stylized grown-up look. The boys collection is really cool. Tweed blazers, chords, checks and stripes are in abundance. More of a Caramel Baby feel which I love. I cannot stand boys clothing covered in any kind of character or childish motif. Little gentleman should be allowed to dress like little gentleman.

This season Mamas and Papas have also introduced a new age range. The collection now goes up to 4 years old which is great. The other great news is that the pricing has been reduced making the new collection in line with the likes of Next and Mothercare. I am assured quality has not been affected.

The Welcome to the World collection is still totally divine. A neutral pallet in soft cottons and cashmere. Sets and basics are now more affordable with a pack of bodies the same price as most other highstreet brands.

I think 2013 is set to be a good year for Mamas and Papas. I am pretty sure Kate Middleton will be a big fan.
