LITTLE DUDES

29 Apr

DUdesndolls
As a mother of two girls, when it comes to mini-style I have it easy. From my own shopping experiences, just keeping an eye out to all aspects of fashion, I notice (and am constantly hearing complaints from friends) that comparatively little boys style is a lot harder to come by. So this one if for you guys. Those with little dudes. Aptly, dudesndolls.co.uk.

Dudes n Dolls offer simple, cool, quirky, and stylish, printed leggings and harems. That, most importantly here, are very reasonably priced. Not may of us feel the need to pay £30 for leggings, even for ourselves....If I ha ... Read More

NAUTICAL UPDATES

IO Hayfield
Sartorial wise, a striped top is one of my favourite wardrobe staples. Nine times out of ten you will see me reach for a stripe when it comes to everyday style. Thrown on with denim of some description, or favourite leather pants, it's a style that is as simple as it is perfect. Every season nautical themes make a comeback in some way or another. So what's more of an excuse needed to update those stripes?

For pregnancy I love the simplicity of a striped tank, top, or dress. Isabella Oliver is a go-to. I lived in their ruched t-shirt dress during both my pregnancies, and their up ... Read More

mOmma ROCKS!

Apologies in advance for the review-style feature here, but I feel this exciting new brand is worth a mention. I was recently sent one of their baby bottles to try out and think it's really quite cool so wanted to share.

mOmma is a funky new range of toddler feeding products brought to us by well know maternity brand Lansinoh. As they should, each product is designed to aid development, entertain and stimulate toddlers during mealtimes, using only the highest quality materials in the safest and most hygienic way. And, well generally, just encouraging all those good eating habits ... Read More

BEST FOR BABY’S BATH

17 Apr

Bathtime snuggles
When it comes to little ones and their skin, especially delicate newborn skin, it's important to respect that vulnerability. Your baby trusts in you to give them only the very best. They do advise not to give your newborn a bath for the first week or two, instead sticking to a quick top and tail with plain warm water. But when you do give them that first special experience, what's best when it comes to product?

Personally I will always try to stick to natural and organic baby products wherever possible. If I ever do have to use a perfumed wipe or chemically infused product I imm ... Read More

THE DUNGAREES

16 Apr

Lily aldridge
An age old favourite, the maternity dungarees. I love a denim dungarees pregnant or not. It's a chic, laid back-look. An easy-alternative to the double-denim vibe, requiring minimum effort when it comes to getting dressed. Simply pair with a plain cotton T or vest.

Spotted on many a pregnant celebrity, or stylish mum  (being a mum is not a requirement here either please note), this latest image of model Lily Aldridge got me inspired. Re-kindling my love of the denim dungarees. Her specific flared style is by Stella MaCartney, so maybe not an option for the majority of us, but t ... Read More

LITTLE SWIMMERS

There is no time like the present when it comes to investing in those new summer additions. And even more so where little ones and swimming costumes are concerned. Every season when I go to stock up for our Italian summers away, there are never any sizes left in my favourites. Don't you just hate that? Well, this year, and with two little ones to purchase for, I have vowed to get in there early.

With my most recent quest under-way I came across this really cool children's boutique, Busy and the Boy, and instantly fell in love with their little swimwear collection. We travel quit ... Read More

POLKA DOTS

9 Apr

Pretty woman
Every season the polka-dot seems to make an appearance. Last year Burberry favoured the print, this year D&G. It's a classic and so easy to wear, making it no wonder the high street also likes to feature polka dots a lot. (And I can't not mention Kate Middleton's penchant to polka dot maternity style. She wore a Topshop style whilst pregnant with George and also introduced him to the world wearing Polka dots. Then more recently it was an ASOS addition that caught her eye.)

When I think of Polka dots I think of that dress in Pretty Woman. You know the one? Where she ... Read More

INTERVIEW: BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour

A couple of weeks ago I was interviewed for BBC Radio 4's Woman's hour. A radio interview was a whole new experience for me, but an opportunity I was not going to pass up. Although extremely nerve-wracking once the first question was out of the way I actually really enjoyed it. I would love to do it all again. There was A LOT more I wanted to say.

The topic, 'The art of maternity dressing' was, for obvious reason, very relevant to me and my blog. The whole reason Mumzynot was born in-fact. Although the presenter, Jane Garvey, was not actually that interested in what we had to sa ... Read More

I TAKE IT BACK

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break. I headed back to the Suffolk countryside with my family which was blissful. I love going back for a few days, it's just a totally different pace of life and just what is needed sometimes. I also love it for the girls. Quality time in the countryside cannot be beaten. We literally didn't have time to turn on the TV, and most importantly we never even miss it.

As with most road trips back home, even though we have a relatively large 4 x 4, there is still always a struggle to squeeze everything in. Dogs, strollers, scooters, cases, presents ... Read More
