NEW SEASON DENIM

8 Mar

denim therapy
When it comes to denim there is no right or wrong. There will always be room for more than one style. Skinny, flared, distressed, boyfriend, girlfriend, cropped, it all depends on your mood. Right now my mood is on the new season denim. It's all about a wide leg and focus is on the hem.

Love it or hate it there is no escaping springs latest denim vibe. What I love so much about this new look denim is the comfort appeal. I have never been totally comfortable in a pair of skinny jeans, no matter how much they have cost me. I also hated wearing slim fit mat ... Read More

PERSONALISED BASKETS AND STORAGE FROM EDIT.58

11 Feb

The sweetest personalised baskets were gifted to the girls over Christmas by my SIL. I had already discovered Edit.58 and was actually coveting the exact same baskets. Great minds think alike it seems. Luckily my SIL realised the same and gave me a heads up to make sure we didn't double-up! Although it wouldn't actually have been a problem. Not only do these 'mini-edits' make the most adorable beach bags, they are also perfect little storage for toys and books.

Edit.58 is the perfect destination for those looking for something a little differen ... Read More

20 Jan

It was only a dusting, but this weekend saw our first snow of the season. For little E it was in fact the first snow ever. So sweet to see her cute face when we woke up to a  blanket of white. This excitement was spurred on by her big sister who exclaimed that we must put all the decorations back up, 'it's Christmas again!' Up until last weekend we were barely wearing coats. Finally we can get out the wellies, raincoats and bobble hats. Perfect timing that we got a special delivery from Hatley then.

Hatley is a Canadian brand that is available online a ... Read More

MY SKINCARE SECRETS

,There are many different lotions and potions in my bathroom cabinet but, like most of you i'm guessing, there are only a select few that I really couldn't live without. Some are cult favourites, others are just my own personal recommendation. Skincare + beauty. Here's my routine.

First up cleanse, tone and moisturise. I have always been a Clarins girl, but recently I switched skincare to Jurlique. My love affair with Jurlique began on a trip to Australia about five years ago, where I was introduced to rose water mist. I have been using it ever since, a bottle e ... Read More

So it's here, 2016! Happy New Year! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and celebrated the NY in style. Even if it was just with a delicious supper and some champagne at home with friends and family. As parents this is more often than not the case when it comes to NYE, no?

Now that 2016 is in full swing it's time to start thinking about what is planned for the year ahead, and what resolutions, if any, to make. It's usually a good idea to choose things that are attainable. I have learnt this from experience. My main resolution is to be more organised. in fact this ... Read More

EXCITING NEW ACCESSORIES FOR JOOLZ

15 Dec

Jollz car seat
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. The few months pre-Christmas are literally my busiest time of year. My business, selling traditional and wooden children's toys, so that kind of makes sense! I am so looking forward to some time off over Christmas and New Year. I will be heading back re-fuelled and re-charged for an exciting 2016. Gosh that sounds funny doesn't it. Seems like 2006 only the other day.

Anyway, time being precious, a blog update from me needed to be motivated by something exciting and extra special. And it is. Joolz, my most recommende ... Read More

Holly.hock-home
One of the best things about Instagram (and also one of the best places to catch up with me in between posts) is discovering unique new brands. I recently came across the perfect example of a wonderful new discovery. And just in time as i'm currently in the process of making the transition for E from a cot to cot-bed. We are just about to take the sides of her cot and introduce her very own duvet, which in turn requires that special first bed linen. Introducing Hollyhock home.

Hollyhock home is perhaps the most beautiful, vintage-styled design ... Read More

LUXURY GIFT IDEAS FOR MUM

25 Nov

Gift ideas
I have been thinking a lot about what I might like for Christmas. My husband asked me the other day and I must admit I wasn't really too sure. As a 'mum' there isn't really anything too specific that I fancy. Previously, and as Mumzynot started out as a proper mummy blog, I would have endless gift ideas all baby related. Now, the girls are getting bigger and all those mum-type gifts are no longer part of the equation. However, being a girl, not just a mum, there are a few things I wouldn't mind discovering under the tree come Christmas morning.

First on ... Read More

As party season fast approaches thoughts turn to Christmas outfits. What to wear for all those festive parties and birthday celebrations? In our family October through to December is super-busy birthday wise! That's before we even get to Christmas eve or New Year. So with lunches, drinks and dinners in abundance it's important to be outfit-ready. There's nothing more stressful than realising you have nothing to wear.

My own wardrobe dilemmas aside, when it comes to the girls outfit selection can be just as fraught. I have learnt from experience that it's way more beneficial inve ... Read More
