Boot up

6 Nov

other storires
I haven't purchased a new pair of boots for a couple of winters now. When it comes to footwear I believe in quality over quantity, both for myself and for my daughters. This means I am happy to spend more on a really lovely boot that will last more than one season, rather than several cheaper pairs that probably won't even last one. Obviously this doesn't always work with the girls as their feet grow! However from experience, no matter how many different pairs they might have, they always end up wearing the same ones. So you only need one good pair, in either dark blue, black or brown, to wear ... Read More

Sequins and faux fur

17 Oct

faux
Probably my favourite two things to wear come winter, sequins and faux fur. You just can't beat them for feeling festive. Not just for parties, I love a sequined skirt and a chunky knit combination during the day, too.

I have just done a quick edit of some of my favourite sequin dresses, all online now. My absolute favourite combination has the be this oversized  shaggy coat with this dress! (Which would also work with my baby bump.) I have however just remembered I have that Zara rainbow sequin t-shirt dress from last season, still with it's label attached - so not su ... Read More

LEOPARD LOVE

12 Sep

Kitty-flats
The trend that has never really gone away, but this season is key. Leopard. There is literally no escaping it.

However, when it comes to animal prints (of any kind) I always like to keep them to the more classic styles and mainly outerwear. Coat, shoes, bag. Those pieces that won't ever date, worn on repeat season after season. (With the exception of these New Look leopard print jeans I would never have considered leopard-print trousers before, but I saw them worn on Instagram with a silk white shirt and just LOVED the look. Plus they were under £30 so I thought why not?) I did ... Read More

SPRING EDIT

15 Mar

and other stories
Snow's over and Spring is definitely on the horizon, judging by all the pretty little flowers popping up everywhere anyway. I am still wearing my duvet coat for the school run so Spring is definitely not quite in the air yet. However I am more than fed up with winter fashion and my attention is definitely now on what's trending for Spring Summer. I am totally over anything chunky, grey or black.

I love Spring, it's definitely the prettiest season. This is not only evident in all the spring blossoms, daffodils and tulips, pretty pinks. Forals and lavender are also being injected ... Read More

Copy of Copy of CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS
Do any other bloggers out there sometimes feel like they just can't be bothered with it? Well that's been me the past few months. Blogging is not my main job, it's more of a hobby for me, and so there is never a real sense of urgency about any of it. And there is always something else that needs doing at work or at home. Thank goodness for instagram - I guess as a blogger it's the quick snap shot, visual version?  However, there's nothing like a new discovery to re-kindle that blogging flame. (As they say.)

I recently discovered Canva and I'm now obsessed. I always assumed you ... Read More

BLUSH PINK

6 Jun

Marchesa sequin tulle mini dress
I'm not normally a pink person. My wardrobe contains mostly black, white, grey and denim. I do also like a print and a stripe but, I literally don't have one thing pink. However this season I am finding myself increasingly drawn to it. I keep coming across beautiful lace and embroidered dresses, both from the high street and designer in this pretty (I'm talking blush not fuscia) hue. Pink is also perfect accessorised with gold which makes me love it even more, as I have a lot of gold accessories. Perhaps not a colour I would wear everyday, although you easily could, I love the idea of somethin ... Read More

SALE PICKS

10 Jan

Aquazzura £168 from £420 Net A Porter
Sales, you either love them or hate them. For me Sale shopping has to be done online, I hate trawling sale rails in store and I have come to the conclusion that generally you will waste your time looking for anything you like, that is available in your size. You are also way more likely to make rash purchases. The same theory applies when I am looking for the girls. Although I must admit I did find a beautiful grey coat for A last weekend in the COS sale. But that must have been fate as it was literally the only one there and happened to be in her size.

Sale sho ... Read More

CHRISTMAS PAJAMAS

16 Nov

Kath kitson
One tradition in our house is new Pajamas to wear on Christmas eve. I love seeking out my favourite pair for the girls and each year the offering becomes greater and greater, making the task harder and harder. If you know me you will know I am indecisive at the best of times. Which is my favourite?

Go-to's include Gap Kids and The Little White Company. I think it's important for sleepwear to be as soft and comfortable as possible and both brands seem to offer a lovely quality. They also have sweet designs that are not too colourful or garish, for both boys, girls and us mamas. ... Read More

SUDIO SWEDEN. CHIC WIRELESS EARPHONES

IMG_7014 (002)
I don't often listen to music these days. i'm not sure why, aside from the fact that we no longer own a cd player (who does?) and I literally have no idea how to download a song! I think maybe it's also to do with having children. Life is a constant rush that there never seems to be the opportunity. The one time I do get to listen to music is in the car, but only when the girls are not with me. My youngest especially hates having music on in the car as it means she can't talk. She loves to talk and does not appreciate having to compete against the radio. Which is fair enough and anyway, I love ... Read More

WINTER COATS

14 Oct

zara coat
Last winter I purchased my dream coat from Net A Porter. Grey, oversized, long-length and wool. I can't actually emphasis how long I was looking for this exact coat. It was quite expensive, even on sale, but you know when you just fall in love with something and have to have it no matter what? Well that happened. And it turns out it was actually quite the investment as I wore it literally every day. I am looking forward to doing the same this winter.

As a result I'm not really in the market for a new winter coat this year. I don't think I can ever beat the one I ... Read More
