ZARA MATERNITY WEAR

15 Oct

Zara blouse
So I was just browsing Zara on-line for the girls (and for me) and noticed a new maternity section. About time Zara. Great news. It should be good.

Although very limited their maternity pieces don't disappoint. Out of the 11 items on offer (four are 'mum' jeans) I would happily pick any one to wear myself. The minimal and roomy feel is perfect, looking comfortable whilst retaining style. I would perhaps sum it up as a capsule collection for pregnancy. Day to night dress. check. Jeans. check. Blouse. check. My favourite piece is probably the faux leather dress, which I w ... Read More

TIMELESS BEAUTY WITH LOQUET LONDON

12 Oct

Loquet
One piece of jewellery that I have wanted for quite some time now is a necklace. I like the idea of something personal, and up until now a Monica Vinader engraved pendant was top of my list. Ever since having my daughters I have wanted some jewellery to represent their birth, our life and love. I have wanted a personalised necklace that I can wear everyday and never take off. Then I came across Loquet.

Loquet is still a relatively new name in the world of luxury jewellery. A British concept created by Sheherazade Goldsmith with Laura Bailey that launched in June ... Read More

THE WINTER CAPE MAKES A COMBACK

7 Oct

Joseph
Pretty much every winter the cape makes a comeback. I have several styles in my wardrobe that I can't wait to bring out from hibernation as soon as the weather takes a turn. I have in-fact got a gorgeous tartan cape that I got when I was still at university. This just goes to show the capes longevity.

As with most things sartorially, even if you do have something similar on rotation, there's always the need for an update. Especially when you know it will be well worth the investment. I would like to add here too, that the cape is the perfect cosy, yet cool, cover-up in pregnancy ... Read More

LUST-LIST

18 Aug

Suede shoe
We have just returned from another wonderful summer in Italy and instantaneously I am feeling the cold! It may still be August but judging by the current weather forecasts 'that great British summer' is long gone. So for now, sartorially, thoughts have turned to Autumn. I'm now thinking pieces that will see me through to winter.

Suede is top of my list for the new season. I fell in love with a suede trench at the beginning of summer which I wore to bits already. Sadly it's gone missing?? How can that happen - last seen in my car. I think about that coat always...Anyway, with sue ... Read More

OFF THE SHOULDER

29 Jul

I wasn't 100% sure about the off-the-shoulder look at first. Perhaps a little too bohemian for my style, and definitely not something I was dying to add to my wardrobe. But as with all these things, you never know before you try. On this occasion I was actually pleasantly surprised.

Looking further into the trend, and now knowing it can work with my more minimal style, I have started to notice more and more off-shoulder pieces I am wanting to add. Although I am still thinking sensibly. As with most trends, it's best not to get too carried away. Sticking to just one or two more c ... Read More

SWIMWEAR

20 Jul

Anthro
Who knew? Anthropologie I have just discovered have perhaps the most amazing collection of swimwear. Ever. And just in time for the summer holidays which is even more exciting.

Aside from shoes and bags, I think swimwear is one of my favourite thing to shop for. I'm always on the look out for new additions. You can't really ever have enough costumes right? (It's also almost nearly pregnancy-proof when it comes to what you can and cannot wear. At least the first couple of trimesters anyway.)  So what's so great about Anthropologies collection? High-waists, structured tops and b ... Read More

CLEARANCE

16 Jul

clearance
It's important to remember when shopping the sales - even those amazing bargain clearance items - would I want it full price? If the answer is no then look away.

To avoid being fooled by a discount I like to keep things simple. Searching out classic and timeless pieces means you won't go wrong. Stick to what you know (and wear) best. Denim, cami-basics and a great pair of flats are always a great place to start. I also like to search beachwear and bags. We always head off for some kind of winter sun and finding new holiday pieces in the Winter is near-all impossible. Amongst all ... Read More

FINERY LONDON

8 Jun

Finery dress
Perhaps not one for those expecting, but worth a bookmark for post-baby treats. A new discovery of mine - Finery London.

As quoted by Vogue: 'Chic, shockingly affordable and very well designed' FineryLondon.com is my kinda online boutique. With a hint of Scandinavian styling, bold prints and masculine silhouettes, there are more than a few looks I wouldn't mind being updated with right now. Favourites include a modern tie-waist jumpsuit and Ivory organza dress, which I think has a real Victoria Beckham vibe. (Maybe not worn with those shoes however. A Saint Laurent Jane would be ... UPDATES

Even though I am no longer pregnant, I still like to keep on top of the latest maternity collections. Mumzynot is an on line destination for stylish mums and mums-to-be - so it's important to keep the latter readership happy too, right? As well, I am actually a little bit obsessed with maternity fashion. Perhaps even more so than the regular kind. Since the blog started four years ago the world of maternity has come a long way. It actually makes me miss a bump...

So, updates. I am currently obsessed with denim dungarees and ASOS maternity have a cute vintage-wash style. ... Read More

BEST OF BRITISH

28 May

photo (79)
Apologies for the lack of posts recently. Things have been super-hectic. As a mum of two little ones, half-term, and running your own business, sometimes one thing or another has to go on the back burner. We have also been away for a few days over the bank holiday, relaxing it up with friends, back to nature, experiencing the best of British. There are so many beautiful places to explore in the UK and Cornwall is one of our favourites.

One bug-bear of mine when travelling within the UK however is what to pack? You never know if the weather will be kind, even in the Summer. Seein ... Read More
