Older girls Autumn inspo

6 Sep

scandi mini
I thought I'd do a little autumn edit of girlswear. Hopefully a few of you will find this useful if your daughter, like mine, has grown like a weed over the summer and literally nothing from last years wardrobe fits. (I know a lot of us struggle with pre-teen fashion too, so this might save you having to shop around, assuming you/your daughter has similar tastes in clothing to me/mine!)

My oldest daughter is eight but quite tall for her age. She now wears age 9-10 in most brands, and sometimes even age 10 in the more designer and European labels. (Isn't it weird how the designer ... Read More

Older girls fashion

29 Apr

pinafore dress
I get asked a lot about older girls fashion and I must admit that often I struggle. There is a real lack of age appropriate styles that are affordable and/or of nice quality. Although quality aside I find it's the designs that are more of a problem. The high street seems to stop making cute clothing past the ago of seven, and I am unsure why? I personally feel that a lot of the younger styles should be carried through to at least age 10/11. I know that most of you guys also agree. I am definitely not ready for my daughter's to be wearing cut-outs and crops tops whilst still in single figures. ... Read More

Style and sustainability with Veja

2 Apr

veja
Hello. You are probably wondering what I am doing here, seeing as I haven't blogged in so long!? Well I just wanted to tell you a little bit more about this cool new brand I am obsessed with. Veja, and contrary to popular myth, their trainers are really comfortable!

Veja summed up in a sentence - 'One foot in style the other in sustainability.' I adore everything about this brand, and most importantly this ethos, which I hope is the way that all fashion is now heading. I also love the fact that they do children's styles. (And Men's.) All made from three main materials; wild rubb ... Read More

Start-rite Chelsea boots for both boys and girls

23 Oct

IMG_1180
I was recently contacted by Start-rite shoes and asked if I would like to collaborate with them on the launch of their new season Chelsea boots. Start-rite has always been a go-to for children's footwear, they always have lovely classics and the quality is one of the best (Louisa is just my absolute favourite style when it comes to school shoes) so of course I was very happy to work with them. They sent me a pair of boots for both the girls in the new blue patent for AW18.

Blue boots are not normally a colour I would choose for them, given that they wear a lot of pastels, Evelyn ... Read More

BACK TO SCHOOL

15 Aug

My daughters get eight weeks off over the summer holidays, it always fills me with dread as I have to juggle my online children's boutique with looking after them and it's never that easy. They spend a lot of time with me at the office, (We have a TV in there and get through a lot of paper and pens being arty/making a mess!) with grandparents or camps. We have also been away which really helps to break it up. Anyway, what I do always discover is that those eight weeks do actually go super fast. We only have a couple left and they are back to school, with Evelyn starting reception class. (I am ... Read More

SUMMER SALES EDIT

27 Jun

Cecile copenhagen
It always seems a little pointless to go too crazy with a new summer wardrobe until the sales start. They generally all kick off before July these days. (Although not everywhere on the high street is on sale yet.) There is nothing worse than buying something at the beginning of the season that you haven't actually worn yet and then seeing it in the sales for up to half the price! So annoying. Therefore when planning my holiday wardrobe for example, I always wait. We never go away until the school holidays start anyway and by then pretty much everywhere is on sale.

The most covet ... Read More

SPRING EDIT

15 Mar

and other stories
Snow's over and Spring is definitely on the horizon, judging by all the pretty little flowers popping up everywhere anyway. I am still wearing my duvet coat for the school run so Spring is definitely not quite in the air yet. However I am more than fed up with winter fashion and my attention is definitely now on what's trending for Spring Summer. I am totally over anything chunky, grey or black.

I love Spring, it's definitely the prettiest season. This is not only evident in all the spring blossoms, daffodils and tulips, pretty pinks. Forals and lavender are also being injected ... Read More

SUMMER DRESS EDIT

4 Jul

dress 5
I have posted quite a few summer dress purchases over on my Instagram feed recently and have had lots of people asking where they are from. As a result you have prompted a summer dress edit. I think about 80% of my everyday wardrobe this season seems to be from Zara. However, for fear of becoming totally boring, predictable, and more than likely to bump into someone in the same outfit, I have forced myself to become more adventurous with my shopping destinations. The high street actually has so much to offer, even, dare I say it, from the likes of New Look and River Island. Y ... Read More

BLUSH PINK

6 Jun

Marchesa sequin tulle mini dress
I'm not normally a pink person. My wardrobe contains mostly black, white, grey and denim. I do also like a print and a stripe but, I literally don't have one thing pink. However this season I am finding myself increasingly drawn to it. I keep coming across beautiful lace and embroidered dresses, both from the high street and designer in this pretty (I'm talking blush not fuscia) hue. Pink is also perfect accessorised with gold which makes me love it even more, as I have a lot of gold accessories. Perhaps not a colour I would wear everyday, although you easily could, I love the idea of somethin ... Read More

SWIMWEAR I LOVE

18 May

and other stories metallic cross back
Holiday season is fast approaching and there are some really lovely swimwear pieces out there right now, both designer and high end. Now is the time to invest girls, as when it comes to actual summer holidays you will find there is nothing you like left in stock! I think it's always best to plan ahead for every season. We are off to Marrakesh in fact for half term, so I have started my search for a summer wardrobe even earlier than usual.

I am currently obsessed with anything bardot and when it comes to costumes and bikini's this is no exception. I got a my first Read More
