THE SHOW-STOPPER

18 Dec

Last weekend I attended a black tie event at Chelsea's Hurlingham Club. Dressing for such occasions can be pretty stressful with a seven month baby bump, lets face it you don't feel your best. I certainly don't anyway, and in all honesty the last thing I wanted to do was go to a black tie dinner. What was I going to wear? Thankfully my partnership with Madderson London came into play, and brings me to the second look for my style diary. They have just the dress for red carpet glamour.

The Juno dress, the Madderson 'show stopper'. A silk printed style-statement, with exquisite pe ... Read More

COVER-UP

13 Dec

joseph
With Winter comes the need for added layers. Chunky knits and woolly tights are all well and good but no matter the amount of fabric, a cover-up is still essential. One of my favourite things to shop for this season is a chic new coat. Just like shoes and bags, you can never have too many. A coat is one item of clothing I have found (with pregnancy number one and again this time around) that does not need to be maternity specific. A baby-bump doesn't really get in the way of the latest outerwear styles. Currently I am loving all things over-sized, as you already know, and the fur ted ... Read More

Highlights have to be Elle Macpherson intimate from just £7 and Lucy Choi pumps at just £37! I know there is not too much for those of us with a baby-bump, but I can still get excited about all the accessories. And anyway, I won't be pregnant forever.

Try not to get too carried away.

THE SATURDAY DRESS

10 Dec

20131208_143818-21
The first look from my much-anticipated Madderson London style-diary: The Saturday Dress - every maternity wardrobe should have one. It's not only for Saturday btw. Wear-with-all, it pretty much goes with everything, any day, remaining a style-staple way beyond pregnancy.

Made from perfectly soft, luxurious modal with discreet side ruching and just the right amount of stretch allowing for that inevitable belly. (mine is now most definitely a proper bump!) A clever side slit also means this otherwise fitted style does not restrict movement. You just feel comfortable and loose ... Read More

CHRISTMAS MINI-STYLE-STATEMENT

6 Dec

caramel-dusty-rose-velvet-dress
I don't know about you but for all special occasions and festivities I like my daughter to be dressed accordingly. Whether it be a birthday party, Halloween or (most relevantly) Christmas day, little A will have a new outfit to showcase. It's a great opportunity to treat her wardrobe to a chic new addition. (Perhaps not at Halloween. This is one occasion where chic goes completely out of the window.)

There are so many cute outfit ideas that it really is hard to choose just one. So I have put together a few options as below, for both the boys and the girls. Dressing up is in no w ... Read More

STROLLERS – MY TOP 5

5 Dec

siLVERCROSS-SURF-2013
As my second pregnancy approaches the third trimester my attention is (slowly) turning towards newborn prep. I still have yet to actually purchase anything new for #2, I mostly have what I need. But some of the bigger items I am starting to consider, or re-consider as it were, depending on what worked first time around and what didn't.  One such item being my stroller.

As a first time mum choosing a travel-system was one of the most exciting tasks. I knew what I wanted before I was even pregnant, for me it had to be a Bugaboo. I have no idea why, I just loved it, befor ... Read More

GIFTS FOR DAD

4 Dec

RAF-simmons
There are only 21 days to go until Christmas. So if you haven't done so already, it's time to get thinking about presents. Children, mums, sisters and girlfriends are easy, but what about dad.! I always find it hard buying for the man in my life, as well as my own dad and mostly dad-in-law) what do you get someone that seems to have everything?!

When it comes to gifts ideas for him, if you are stuck for ideas, I would always recommend the classics. You can never go wrong with a cashmere sweater or chic new tie or wallet. Last year I got my husband a Mulberry wallet which went do ... Read More

week-3-2
Last week was one full of social soirees and Christmas prep, in between exciting meetings and frantically trying to keep to my many deadlines.

Wednesday saw my second edit for Blossom Mother and Child go live. This month features my mama and baby Gift guide. It was really hard choosing my favorite pieces, but hopefully you will agree, my selection includessome really lovely gift ideas. As well as my Blossom deadline, I was also asked to do a first piece for John Lewis. I am conscious that I only feature products and brands that I believe in on Mumzynot, but when such a high-prof ... Read More

DEAR SANTA

2 Dec

ALex-monroe
To, Dear Santa, pretty please? My ultimate Christmas list, which is perhaps a little extravagant in places. But I'm not greedy so would happily settle for just one or two things. I couldn't possibly just choose one. (Oh go-on, probably the Alex Monroe gold and diamond ring. You will be surprised to know it's not the most expensive thing on my list. I told you I wasn't greedy.)

What's top of your Christmas list this year?!

COUNTRY-CHIC

28 Nov

barbour-girls
I am a country girl at heart. I grew up in the Suffolk countryside and love nothing more than going back home for some R&R. There is actually nothing more relaxing, the country way of life is just so chilled. It's almost backwards. I love the lazy mornings reading the paper, long dog walks without a car in sight, and indulging in the local fish and chips (Aldeburgh) which are to-die-for. I am in-fact long overdue a return, and what perfect timing. At over six months pregnant R&R is definitely what I need!

With country jaunts in mind it is important to understand that sev ... Read More
