HAPPY NEW YEAR

6 Jan

FullSizeRender (14)
So it's here, 2016! Happy New Year! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and celebrated the NY in style. Even if it was just with a delicious supper and some champagne at home with friends and family. As parents this is more often than not the case when it comes to NYE, no?

Now that 2016 is in full swing it's time to start thinking about what is planned for the year ahead, and what resolutions, if any, to make. It's usually a good idea to choose things that are attainable. I have learnt this from experience. My main resolution is to be more organised. in fact this ... Read More

FORGET TRUNKI. IT’S ALL ABOUT SAMSONITE’S NEW CHILDREN’S COLLECTION

iconic wheely
Much to the probable annoyance of those dragons, Trunki has become a household name. We own one, and the same goes for pretty much everyone I know that has small children and travels. However, personally, they are actually more of a hindrance than a help. That cute airport ride-on, that's designed to make travelling with children easier and fun, is far from it. Perhaps if you could pull them around corners and they didn't fall over at the first hurdle I wouldn't be so anti. But for now the Trunki is definitely more fun for children than it is for parents. Subsequently our Trunki has been 'brok ... Read More

BEST OF BRITISH

Apologies for the lack of posts recently. Things have been super-hectic. As a mum of two little ones, half-term, and running your own business, sometimes one thing or another has to go on the back burner. We have also been away for a few days over the bank holiday, relaxing it up with friends, back to nature, experiencing the best of British. There are so many beautiful places to explore in the UK and Cornwall is one of our favourites.

One bug-bear of mine when travelling within the UK however is what to pack? You never know if the weather will be kind, even in the Summer. Seein ... Read More

HEAVEN ON EARTH

So I have just returned from that dream trip, Mauritius Four Seasons, it really was heaven on earth. That 12 hour flight with two little ones was well and truly worth it then!

I am not going to lie though, that flight was not easy. The littlest one is not the best sleeper whilst out and about. Maybe it's that second child syndrome, fear of missing out, but unless she is warm, cosy, quiet and dark, sleep is not an option. A however now finds travel a doddle, three is the bench-mark I think.

Now it's back to reality. Six loads of washing down, at least three more to ... Read More

IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIALS

12 Nov

Travelling with little ones requires a fair amount of organisation. On-top of outfit planning and packing for three, it's also important to be prepared for the journey. We have done a fair amount of long haul flying as a family so I like to think I am pretty good at what I do need, and what I actually really don't.

So what are my in-flight essentials? I have learnt few and far between. But without these few, things would not be quite so comfortable. Catch you later, that sea is calling me...

Love,

PROJECT RED

Last week I received a new aden + anais summer-weight sleeping bag ready for our impeding holiday.

From experience I have learnt that the 1 tog sleeping bags are still far too hot for Mediterranean climates, and a sheet or light blanket just doesn't work as an alternative. Evelyn's latest trick is to wriggle anything covering her up over her face, so I wouldn't feel comfortable her sleeping in anything but a sleeping bag. Β Aden + anais is the obvious answer. Soft, snuggly muslin that is as light as the lightest sheet - to keep her cosey yet cool.

Whilst we are on ... Read More

HOME SWEET HOME

Or in this case not so much...Would rather be back in Italy right now. Although thank you Mr. Sunshine for a very warm welcome home.

Sorry for my lack of posts over the last ten days. I had every intention to keep things going whilst away, but as is always the case I was too busy having fun. (You can always keep up with me on Instagram though.) Italy for us is like a home from home. A was there at just nine weeks old and this year was Evelyn's dΓ©but at twelve weeks. Just like her sister she was a star. If you can, I think it's always best to get babies used to travelling from a ... Read More

THE ALL IN ONE

This weekend was another taster to the hopeful Summer sunshine that we are all longing to last more than one or two days. With temperatures just about warm enough for bare legs I looked to my more summery wardrobe pieces. The MiH Jeans boiler suit is one of my favourite everyday denim staples and I was pleased to be able to bring it out of hibernation. This is such a versatile piece that can be thrown on with not much thought at all. (My kind of clothing right now.) The zip front is also perfect for breastfeeding.

Team with a sneaker for day-time-cool and add a chunky knit when ... Read More

SUNSHINE

We were sure to make the most of this past weekends glorious sunshine. (Clearly a wise move as, surprise surprise, it didn't last.) BBQ's, family and friends were the perfect combination to those hot sunny days.

For laid back summer dressing 'mini-style' you can't beat a cute little romper. Baby Gap editions are my go-to right now for both the girls. Cute, comfy and casual A's lightweight denim version is a favourite, and I love anything in white for baby E. Β So does she clearly, judging by that smile.

When it comes to my summer uniform right now, a basi ... Read More

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

NYE
Happy 2014! Lat night was the first time ever (as an adult) we have spent New Years eve at home, doing nothing, and it was actually really nice. We sat up watching Graham Norton then snuggled in bed for Big Ben and the fireworks. Weren't they spectacular?! And how lovely, we were asleep by 12.15 and did not wake up until 9.30 the next morning. That's a pretty good start to 2014. Little A was a star and let us have a much needed lie-in. She obviously needed one too.

I hope you all had a fabulous evening, whatever you were up to, and may this new year bring you love, laug ... Read More
