KNITWEAR EDIT

Do any other bloggers out there sometimes feel like they just can't be bothered with it? Well that's been me the past few months. Blogging is not my main job, it's more of a hobby for me, and so there is never a real sense of urgency about any of it. And there is always something else that needs doing at work or at home. Thank goodness for instagram - I guess as a blogger it's the quick snap shot, visual version?Β  However, there's nothing like a new discovery to re-kindle that blogging flame. (As they say.)

I recently discovered Canva and I'm now obsessed. I always assumed you ... Read More

NURSING KNITS

So I am no longer breastfeeding but when friends Babes With Babies asked to feature something gorgeous from their collection, I knew this was no matter. As a maternity and breastfeeding go-to of mine, when it comes to their clothing practicality is just a formality.

So, as it should, the Babes With Babies collection has several lovely pieces that appear in no-way baby/pregnancy/breastfeeding/new mum related, and after a quick search I picked something I have actually be looking for, for quite a while. - A chunky poncho-style cable-knit in that lovely shade of charcoal grey. LOUNGING

Being pregnant, especially during that third trimester, requires a total amount of comfort. But comfort and style can come hand in hand.

I'm no longer with bump but I can still speak with experience; For the most part, towards the end, lounging was the name of the game. Be it at home, on the school run or sitting at a desk, I pretty much had it mastered. Isabella Oliver was my go-to, and new pregnancy portal Nine In The Mirror would also have featured heavily (damn you, six months too late!) Choosing styles wisely means they can remain post-bump. I still pull on those f ... Read More

KNITS

I have a feeling summer is on it's way out and there are only a few more weeks left of cropped looks and slides.... These past few mornings chunky knits have been calling me. I have managed to resist so far, however this has not stopped me looking out for new additions.Β This season the bigger the better,Β which is something I am really happy about, and is also great if you are with bump. You can't beat a cosey oversized woolly. Wear with leather leggings or those favourite skinnies for everyday style.

Currently I am drawn to any shade of grey ... Read More

THE ALL IN ONE

This weekend was another taster to the hopeful Summer sunshine that we are all longing to last more than one or two days. With temperatures just about warm enough for bare legs I looked to my more summery wardrobe pieces. The MiH Jeans boiler suit is one of my favourite everyday denim staples and I was pleased to be able to bring it out of hibernation. This is such a versatile piece that can be thrown on with not much thought at all. (My kind of clothing right now.) The zip front is also perfect for breastfeeding.

Team with a sneaker for day-time-cool and add a chunky knit when ... Read More

EFFORTLESSLY CHIC. BAUKJEN

10 Mar

Baukjen
You know I am a big fan of Isabella Oliver maternity. Well I also love their sister brand, Baukjen, and I am not quite sure why I have waited so long to tell you...

Effortlessly chic, Baukjen is all about wardrobe staples - A great pair of jeans, jersey T, statement jacket and wear-with-all knit, as well as some great leather pieces. Be it a laid back weekend look, or something a little more style-savy, there are more than a few things I would like to add to my post-baby wardrobe right now. (One week to go!)

Love,

THE KNITTED CAPE

Luxe-tie-sweatshirt
On my days off I like to keep it simple, and comfy. My go-to piece right now happens to be a Donna Karen knitted poncho I purchased a few season ago, it just seems to go with anything, and most importantly works with that bump. Skinny jeans, a slouchy jumper dress or (dare I say it) leggings are all perfect partners.

With this in mind I have been on the look out for another similar style, just to add a bit of variety on those off-duty days. As said Donna Karen piece has proved, it should become another wardrobe staple that will remain season after season, pregnant or not.

BOYFRIEND

asos boyfriend t shirt
When I was pregnant comfort was key, but it was also important to retain my sense of style. One of my favorite everyday looks was what I would describe as boyfriend-chic. Loose sweaters, oversized tops and comfy jogger-style pants or soft jersey trousers. When it came to dresses I was more at home in t-shirt or jumper styles. I also had my favorite pair of maternity jeans and a wear-with-everything knit poncho. For me there was no room for fussy prints or fancy materials (except on special occasions when a statement piece was required).

With this in mind I would like to draw you ... Read More
