Brought to my attention just a few weeks ago, Cucuka leather changing bags: Coming very soon, and most coveted. I might even go as far as to say perhaps the chic new 'it' bag for stylish mums.

You know the spiel, so I won't go into that practicality side of things again (!). Quickly and foremost, think buttery soft leather, gorgeous looks and a designer quality. Cucuka is my kind of arm candy then, and it just so happens to have that required function. Don't mind if I do. My name will most definitely be going on that list. How about you?

Cottage toys pic
So things have been super-hectic this past few weeks as you will know from my lack of posts lately. Well one main reason for this, aside from a six-month old and a three year old, is the fact that I have taken on an exciting new project. Say hello to my new baby, Cottage-Toys.

The family business has now come into my hands. With the help of my brother, I have been excitedly re-launching our gorgeous online children's and baby boutique, which as you can imagine is very exciting. There is lots to do and at times it has been stressful, but there is also a bit of fun involved. What ... Read More

Last week I received a new aden + anais summer-weight sleeping bag ready for our impeding holiday.

From experience I have learnt that the 1 tog sleeping bags are still far too hot for Mediterranean climates, and a sheet or light blanket just doesn't work as an alternative. Evelyn's latest trick is to wriggle anything covering her up over her face, so I wouldn't feel comfortable her sleeping in anything but a sleeping bag.  Aden + anais is the obvious answer. Soft, snuggly muslin that is as light as the lightest sheet - to keep her cosey yet cool.

Whilst we are on ... Read More

Evelyn loves the bath. We didn't follow the 'guidelines' of waiting until she was a week or two old, my theory is get them used to it from the beginning. (After a few days.) There is nothing worse than a little one that hates to bath. Both my girls love the water and this is the only real routine we stick too. (I am 100% anti Gina Ford,) A relaxing warm bubble bath is shortly followed by bed.

With babies in mind a hooded bath towel is a must-have. It just makes life easier. Newborns feel the cold and after a warm bubbly bath they like to snuggle. The Natures Purest robe ... Read More

About a month ago I was offered a newborn shoot with Clapham based photographer Emanuela Redaschi. (I met her at a London Mother's event and she was keen for me to review her services.) Of course I happily accepted. When A was born we did a family shoot for Baby Surrey magazine and got some really gorgeous images, so I was honoured to be in a similar position second time around.

A professional shoot is something I 100% recommend on the arrival of a new baby. It's the perfect excuse to get everyone together, no arguments, no fuss, to create some treasured professional photographs ... Read More

You may have been wondering seeing as I have been a little quite these last few days? Well I am so happy to finally announce that our (second) beautiful baby girl arrived on Sunday afternoon, just one day past my due date. Introducing Evelyn Rose. She is just amazing and we are in love all over again.

It's day three and the lack of sleep, hormones all over the place and general adjustment that come with a newborn are starting to kick in. But every time I look at that beautiful bundle I know it is worth every second. And I plan on savouring it for as long as possible.

With under six weeks to go I am definitely at that 'nesting' stage. I have (although I said I wouldn't) purchased several new first outfits, the sales are just too tempting. And I am already starting to sort and wash all those tiny baby grows and cardi's in preparation. I cannot wait to get the nursery finished now either. I was going to leave it as-is, painted in Farrow and Ball's blackened, which is a lovely soft grey. But I am now thinking I would like to wallpaper one wall, in either a star or stripe. Thanks to Pinterest I have lots of ideas.

When it comes to thinki ... Read More

A necessary accessory for winter is a soft and cosey footmuff of some sort for your stroller, to keep your little one warm. Blankets, forget it, they get kicked off in no time. (Well by A anyway.) Last winter I invested in a sand footmuff to match my Bugaboo Cameleon, this year I have been sent a JJ Cole Bundle me. In chic grey with beige sheepskin interior. Little A has never been more snugly (or stylish) whilst out and about.

My only qualm, which I must mention, is that the sheepskin is a pain to keep clean, especially with this weather we have been having. But, it wa ... Read More

I have finally purchased the first few pieces for number 2. I always said I would wait for the sales so am pleased I managed to resist until now. At just over seven months nesting has already kicked in. (Seems earlier this time?) My morning was spent sorting through A's old newborn clothes and realising that actually I do need some additions. She was a summer baby, this one will arrive at the beginning of March. It might be snowing - I have nothing warm, or cosey.

So, you might have seen on my Instagram, This afternoon I invested in two super cute knitted pieces from St ... Read More
